So, it’s been an interesting week. And when I say interesting, I really just mean super busy. Running a blog alongside working a full time job is much harder than I anticipated it to be, and I’ve been struggling to put time aside to come up with some really great content to share. Having said that, my time management skills are slowly improving, and I’m gradually learning the art of living a balanced life. Because really, at the end of the day, that’s what life is all about, right?
Over the weekend, I made a spur of the moment decision to go back to blonde, which is my natural hair colour. I also thought that it would be a fantastic idea to do it myself… Well, I’m here to tell you that DIY hair colouring and working with bleach isn’t exactly the most fun experience in the world. I have a very basic knowledge on colour pigmentation and how to counteract certain tones, and I have coloured my own hair plenty of times before, but going from red to blonde was on a whole other scale of difficulty! On Saturday evening, my hair was the brightest shade of orange I have ever seen. Luckily for me it all worked out (thanks to some leftover ash blonde colour I happened to have lying around in my bathroom!). My hair is still quite healthy despite the crazy amount of bleaching it had to endure, but I wouldn’t recommend the process I went through to anyone else. I’ll be going back to my stylist next time for sure!
For me, simplicity is key in hot weather. I like to feel free and unrestricted, which is why I kept Sunday’s outfit accessory free! Pat and I went to breakfast at Edmonds and Greer in Oatley West, for a catch up breakfast with my sister Nicole, her boyfriend Tim, and our friends Cat and Pete. Afterwards, we went our separate ways and Pat and I went for a drive through Oatley Park to soak up the sun and this amazing view of the Georges River! Spontaneity is one of my favourite things in the whole world, and I think that that is why I had such a great weekend (aside from my temporary hair troubles and the minor panic attack that took place shortly afterwards). I’m really excited to see what the coming weeks and months have in store for me.
