Appreciation

Saturday was a really great day. I would even go as far as saying that it was almost perfect. I can’t think of one thing that was unpleasant, didn’t turn out right, or anything like that. Nothing major happened, and I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, but it was just a really great day. I wish there were more days like this past Saturday.

My morning started with a deliciously nutritious breakfast of organic rolled oats with honey and chopped roasted almonds, accompanied by a soy latte. My favourite! Pat and I then spent the morning enjoying each other’s company, before parting ways so that he could go to work and I could go to the gym. I checked my watch at the end of my workout, only to realise that I had been there for two hours. I have never intentionally stayed at the gym for this long, so I’m taking it as a sign that my endurance and strength levels are improving. I’m very happy about that!

I came home from the gym and spent a little bit of time with my mummy, enjoyed a very long shower (which may or may not have taken over 20 minutes… woops!), tidied my bedroom, and then spent some time with my best friend! She very happily obliged to take some outfit photos for me (thanks Andreana!). We had lots of fun together outside my house, frolicking up and down my street.
This may seem silly, but having your picture taken can be kind of relaxing. Am I the only blogger out there who feels that way? I guess it’s just kind of therapeutic for me to stand there in front of a camera, forget my worries for 20 minutes, and have some fun. Having your best friend there, who is equally as silly as you are, definitely helps – we were laughing the entire time! Too funny.

Our evening then consisted of dinner and half of a movie. We met up with our friends Jess and Claudia at a Thai restaurant in Miranda, and it was fabulous. The combination of great food and endless laughter is so good for the soul. Andreana and I headed back to Claudia’s place afterwards for further laughter filled moments, and then we snuggled up on her couch together to watch 21 Jump street. I didn’t realise until half way through the movie because I was laughing so hard (I’d never seen it before), but the other girls had fallen asleep! It was time to head home. I slept amazingly well that night.

I really loved wearing this outfit because it was casual, but still had that little bit of class about it. This lacy dress is really easy to dress up or down, and on this particular occasion I thought that dressing down would be the better option. To style it for night time wear, I swapped my flats for some black lace up booties. Too easy! My dog, Roxy, was very excited to be a part of this particular outfit shoot, too. She’s the cutest!

Today’s lesson? Appreciate the little things in life. One day, you’ll look back and realise that they were the big things. Speaking of big things, I’m in Auckland at the moment! Pat and I arrived today, and so far we are loving every minute. I can’t wait to share some amazing photos and stories on here soon. Stay tuned!
