Burwood Festival

This past Sunday was filled with radiant sunshine and beautiful people as festivals and fetes took place all over Sydney to welcome the new season. I decided to head to the Burwood festival with my extended family, where we got to watch my cousin Tahnee perform as a representative of her singing studio which is local to the area. There was fairy floss shared around, accompanied by snow cones and Turkish gozleme. I always look forward to this part of spring – the tackiness of carnivals and fairs never fails to make me happy and slightly nostalgic. Later in the day, we got to see ELEM5NT from X-Factor Australia perform. Two of these girls, Nada and Silvana, are friends of mine, and they are absolutely amazing to watch! I posted a video of their performance to my Instagram account, so make sure you go and check it out.

I purchased this dress earlier in the year when I was away in the States, but this is actually the first time that I’ve worn it. I was going through my closet on Saturday and it jumped out at me! I forgot I owned it, which tends to happen all the time due to my overflowing and unorganised wardrobe. Red is my absolute favourite colour, so it seemed only right that I paired this American Apparel blouse with this gem of a dress. My feet were kept nice and comfortable all day in my Shoe Box booties, and I kept my accessories simple. Less is more, ladies!

My first post from our trip to New Zealand will be up on Monday, so keep an eye out for it! Happy Friday, and have a great weekend.
