This past week has been completely full of Christmas spirit and cheer, and I have love-love-loved every second of it. I really cannot fathom that it is Christmas Eve today. Where has the year gone? My Christmas shopping is officially done, my presents are wrapped, and I even managed to grab a few early Christmas presents for myself!
Don’t get me wrong, I love giving people gifts even more than I love receiving them – seeing people’s reactions makes me really happy! But, the process behind it can become slightly tedious after a while (go on, tell me it doesn’t. I dare you!). So, I thought I should be rewarded this year for all of my hard work (ha!) with a new Canon SELPHY CP900 photo printer (which was sorely needed, mostly for use in my Christmas presents), and an iPhone 5S to replace my 4S…
Hey, don’t look at me like that! My contract expires in a month and my battery was dying! I didn’t have a choice! Okay, maybe I could have replaced the battery… Whatever. It’s Christmas!
These pics were snapped last week just before a lady date with Claudia and Andreana. We enjoyed a delicious dinner* at Bay Vista, then took a romantic stroll along Brighton beach whilst admiring the full moon, and doing our best to steer clear of the crazy people (just kidding, we’re actually the crazy ones, but that will have to be our little secret). I saw this lovely play suit on ASOS just over a month ago, and it fit all of my one-piece guidelines – flattering, flowy, floral, with intricate details (a lace collar and two bows). I styled it with black tights for my work Christmas Party, as some of you would have seen if you follow me on Instagram.
*When I said “dinner”, I meant waffles. With ice cream. How many times do you think I can get away with using “It’s Christmas” as an excuse? A few more? Well, okay. You’re the boss!
I am so excited for the quality family time that will be taking place over the next few days. Tonight, Christmas celebrations begin with Mum’s side of the family at my Aunt and Uncle’s place in Woonona (down the south coast of NSW), with nearly all of my extended family in the one place. My favourite part about this family tradition is the present exchanging, including a visit from Santa Claus, as well as the sing and dance along that takes place towards the end of the night. It wouldn’t be the same without the music!
Christmas Day will be spent with Dad’s side of the family in Stanwell Park, at my Aunt and Uncle’s house. After the giant lunch spread, there is usually enough food left over to host Christmas again the next day. Having a big family that knows how to cook amazing food is actually the best thing ever! I’m pretty sure I’ll need someone to wheelbarrow me out of there, though, as I’ll be in a food induced coma. I’ll then be spending Christmas night at Pat’s place, and then heading out with his family on Boxing Day to see The Hobbit Part 2! We’re very excited.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and that Santa Claus spoils you with all sorts of lovely things. See you soon!
