One Piece, Three Looks: Barefoot

I purchased this floral head piece from K is for KANI – an online Etsy store specialising in handmade headwear and jewellery. I didn’t think that just one post would be enough to do this piece justice, so my next three posts will be showing three different looks, all based around the same floral crown. My brother Patrick helped me out with these pictures this past Sunday, frolicking around in what is essentially our backyard. I felt like a hippie, in the best possible way. I should run around barefoot more often.

I wore this outfit on a family outing into the city to see Carl Barron perform at the State Theatre. He is a top notch Australian comedian, and his observational humour gets me every time. I was wiping tears away for the entire show! It was the first time I’ve ever seen him live, and if you haven’t heard of him, or seen any of his material before, you need to YouTube him. Right now! He’s definitely worth watching.

I eventually had to put some shoes on in order to leave the house (ugh), so I went with my comfortable and practical, yet height increasing, “flatforms”. I’m not short, but I’m definitely not tall, either. These shoes are perfect for people like me, especially when the thought of wearing 6 inch heels on a Sunday night is enough to make you cringe! I love this maxi skirt so much – the colour is perfect, and I’m excited to get some more wear out of it as it starts to get warmer.

Did I mention that this crown is handmade? I’m so in love with it. Make sure to check back tomorrow for my second look – a Melbourne Cup inspired post! I’ll be working all day, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a little bit of fun with my fashion and pretend! Have you got your outfit sorted yet?
